Thought I should do something useful with the website so have decided to start a separate page telling people of our experiences with retailers etc in the Auckland area.
Heatpumps - Tom Edmund. Excellent service, came when they said they would and completed the job on time. The ducting inside and out was done in such a way that most of it was hidden and they even hoovered up after themselves! Would recommend them to anyone.
Carpets - Hills Floorings. Service was good right up until they came to fit the carpet. Only one fitter arrived to fit out a whole floor and he didn’t manage to complete the job within one day. As we’d had to take a day off work and didn’t have anymore holidays, we arranged for him to return on Saturday morning to finish the job. He didn’t turn up and when we phoned the office we were very disappointed with their lack of interest. After many phone calls and finally standing in the shop getting very angry, they agreed to send someone out on the Sunday (even although they were trying the guilt trip trick to get us to say it didn’t matter). The manager (when we finally managed to get a hold of him was very unhelpful and patronising). Would not recommend them.
Recruitment Agencies - the two best ones I’ve found are Robert Walters (main agency for VF jobs) and Agility. Both are really helpful and keep track of what you’re doing and checking whether you’re interested in moving. From a more technical perspective, Bobby didn’t find RW as good but agrees with Agility.
Beauty Therapists - now been to one up in Albany - Albany Beauty Therapy - and would recommend it to everyone. Therapist was really great and called me the next day to see how I was and followed up on some product information a couple of days after too. I had a great half day there and intend to go back. While working in VF, I used to go to Skin Central … great team, excellent results … would definitely recommend them. Unfortunately too far away now so will have to find another one.
